Capacity Building Grants

MCPI is pleased to announce a call for pre-proposals for the Capacity Building Grants for Coastal Maine Land Trusts. Matching grants ranging from $30,000-$60,000 are now available for land trusts and collaborations of land trusts to significantly expand professional capacity by supporting permanent staff or other major capacity building investments in land trust leadership, coastal land conservation, stewardship, and regional collaboration. Specifically, the Capacity Building Grants Program will select up to five (5) land trusts to implement strategies 2.1 and 2.4 of Goal 2 as articulated in the MCPI Strategic Conservation Framework. NOTE: The pre-proposal deadline is April 28, 2006.

Informational Roundtables:

On March 29 and 30, voluntary, informal roundtables were held for interested land trusts to discuss the MCPI Capacity Building Grants for Coastal Maine Land Trusts.  Staff from the Land Trust Alliance provided an overview of the grants program, with the majority of time reserved for a question/answer session.
